The Clinic
The Clinic:
Since the late 1960s the Mission has operated a clinic in response
to the urgent medical needs of the local community. Beginning as a modest behind
the parish hall, the medical services offered through the Mission have expanded
greatly. Thanks to donations from the United States the Mission was able to
build a larger facility that was inaugurated in March 2000. This two-story building
houses a variety of medical services, including ophthalmology, dentistry, pediatrics,
maternity, and emergency care. The clinic also houses a pharmacy that sells
affordable medicine to the people of San Lucas. Medical professionals, including
students, volunteer from the United States to help support the work of the clinic.
In addition to their in-house services, the clinic also sponsors field-visits
to more isolated areas in order to care for the rural population.

The construction of the clinict take like a 10 years working hard with volunteers and local people, working sholder by sholder for the whole day sharing american and guatemalan people. The basic idea was give the people a good service for their health.
In the area of the Atitlan Lake is the only clinic with all of the service.With diferents volunteers from United Stat, from diferent universities.
Dental Clinic: the dental clinic is very inportant for us because we give a free service to all person want to go, the Dentis are volunteers from diferents part in the United State
